STEP 2: Physical Agility Test
You must complete a physical agility test which includes sit-ups, push-ups, 1.5 mile run and scaling a six foot block wall. Find out when the next physical agility test is scheduled and review the physicality agility standards.
STEP 3: Background Questionnaire Investigation
The AZ-POST background packet is given to those who successfully complete the physical agility test. The packet must be completed by the applicant and returned to a Reserve recruiter for review. Please contact your recruiter and arrange to turn the packet in at the Reserve Division office.

STEP 4: Apply Online
After submitting your background questionnaire, complete the online application at https://www.phoenix.gov/hr/current-jobs. Please contact your recruiter for further information in regards to this step.
STEP 5: Polygraph Examination
Applicants will be given a polygraph examination (lie detector test) administered by a trained, professional examiner. The test will confirm information noted on the applicant's background investigation packet.
STEP 6: Psychological Test
Applicants will be evaluated by a licensed psychologist.
STEP 7: Medical Examination
Applicants will undergo a complete medical examination by a licensed physician.
STEP 8: Controlled Substance Screening
Applicants will be required to submit to a urinalysis at some point in the hiring process.
